Appleton Art and Culture is excited to have Katia back for more watercolor painting techniques!
This two-day watercolor workshop is designed for students who already have some experience and would like to strengthen their technical control, sensitivity, and confidence with the medium.
Together, we will complete one finished painting that includes a variety of watercolor techniques: wet-on-wet, dry brush, soft printing, gradients, and washes. These techniques will be practiced within the structure of a single painting, not as separate exercises.
We will work slowly and deliberately, moving step by step—focusing on one section of the painting at a time. This approach allows you to understand not only how a technique works, but when and why to use it.
I will demonstrate each part of the process and guide you throughout the workshop, offering individual feedback and spending time with each participant.
This workshop is ideal for artists who enjoy thoughtful observation, controlled technique, and a quiet, focused working atmosphere.
