Studio Watercolor with Dan Mondloch (3 day workshop)
We're so excited! (He's kind of a big deal!) We are so lucky to have this nationally known artist come to Appleton Art and Culture!!!
Dan is an award winning third-generation painter. His first interest in painting was in the 9th grade; while driving with his dad he mentioned he’d like to try painting. The next morning he woke to the kitchen table covered with everything he could ever possibly need to paint a picture. He’s been featured in Plein Air Magazine and Southwest Art Magazine. Recent honors include the Jean Stern Distinctive Legacy Award at the Laguna Plein Air Invitational and Best of show at Grand Marais Plein Air. He lives in Cold Spring, MN with his wife Mallory, sons Jack (6) and Drew (3), daughter Emma (1), plein air painting canine bud – Ruby, a cat named Hunter, and 15 chickens.
Dan says:
“It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is that draws me to a scene. I’m sure it’s a number of both technical and intangible things, such as composition, large value shapes, light, and often that unexplainable spirit you feel from a space. I paint to re-create these connections, and, of course, if my viewers are able to see and feel that as well, it’s a great moment.”
Three awesome days of painting for only $225. When you register, We will email you the supply list and any other pertinent information. Class will be 9 to 4 each day except the last day we will end at 3.
