A School of Fish: Adventures in Reverse Acrylic Painting with Kathleen Marihart

The simple and magical shapes of fish are created by using the technique of painting in reverse using acrylic paint. Students will start out creating an abstract painting, use mark making technique, paint in reverse and use light and shadow to create depth. Students will have the choice to paint simple fish and have a completed painting in around three hours or learn the basics of using light and shadow to create fish with more dimension.

Cost $48 all supplies included

Or $35 if you have your own acrylic painting supplies

Kathleen will instruct the students regarding light and shadow. Students will have the opportunity to work on their canvas using this painting technique. Students will leave at the end of the class with the ability to complete their painting on their own.

Color blending on the canvas

Mark making

Reverse painting

Shadow and light to create depth

How to make their own wet plate
